Country’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp on Monday reported a marginal growth in its sales during March, getting sustainable demands for its products.
The company sold 6,09,951 units in March as compared with 6,06,542 units in March 2016.
TVS Motor Company also recorded 2,16,995 units of domestic sales of its two- wheelers during last month, up 8.4 per cent as against 2,00,190 units in the same month last year.
However, two-wheeler manufacturers including Bajaj Auto and Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) reported decline in sales during March.
Bajaj Auto reported 1,51,449 units in its domestic motorcycle sales last month, down 14 per cent as compared with 1,76,788 units in March last year.
Similarly, despite heavy discounts up to ₹22,000 it offered, HMSI reported decline in its sales by four per cent in March to 3,65,973 units from 3,81,524 units in March 2016.
However, Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Senior Vice President - Sales and Marketing, HSMI, said the company was confident to achieve better during this year. “We are confident that 2017-18 will be a landmark year and Honda 2Wheelers will change the way India and the world will ride home.”
