After completing eight years with the country’s largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp, Anil Dua, Senior Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, has decided to leave the company. .
“I have accepted an exciting opportunity outside the country to begin a new chapter in my professional career. I will, however, always cherish my days at Hero,” he said.
Dua will continue in his current role till June 24, Hero said in a statement on Monday. He is one of the key drivers of growth for the company, especially after the two-wheeler maker separated from Japan’s Honda Motor in 2010.
After the demerger, Dua was also one of the major contributors in building the new brand and promoting new technologies in Hero two-wheelers, apart from setting up new dealer networks across the country.
Under his leadership, the company made many a record in selling two-wheelers, on monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and yearly basis.
For example, the company sold 6,02,481 units in May – its highest-ever despatch sales for any non-festival period.
“Anil’s contribution to the growth of the company is highly appreciated. He played an important role in doubling sales volumes and increasing market share during the past eight years,” said Pawan Munjal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Hero MotoCorp.
The national marketing and sales functions will continue to be headed by Sanjeev Shukla and A Srinivasu, respectively, while the national dealer development and after-sales service functions will remain with Ajay Dikshit and Rajesh Mukhija, respectively.
An alumni of the Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi and the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad, Dua has worked at Hindustan Lever (now Hindustan Unilever) between 1989 and 2005, and as Director Strategy at Gillette (2005-06) before joining the Hero Group.
