Hewlett-Packard India, which launched its All-in-One (AiO) wireless printers in Gujarat on Thursday, may rollout its battery-run printers as well for mobile device users, said an official.

“We already have an Office Jet 100 model which is battery-run. We may roll it out further to tap the Indian market”, said Meraj Ahmad, Country Category Manager, Laserjet Enterprise Solutions, Printing and Personal Systems. The battery-run printer is popular in many countries.

H-P has recently introduced four new models of wireless printers. Priced between Rs 18,306 for a laserjet and Rs 6,999 for a deskjet ink model for various users, all these are affordable wireless printers capable of printing, faxing, scanning and photocopying.

These products, Ahmad said, have features like wireless Internet access and mobile printing for home and business users who want to use wireless network for printing through smartphones, tablets and notebook PCs.

The world’s first monochrome laserjet AiO has an inbuilt Internet Hotspot capable of connecting up to eight devices to the Internet. The H-P ePrint service available on these AiOs allows users to print a document by simply sending a mail directly to the printer from any email device, from any place in the world. “H-P wireless direct” enables the users at homes or businesses to print without opening up their secure wireless network.

H-P’s low-cost cartridges, priced between Rs 299 and Rs 449 can print around 550 pages, he said.
