Hexagon Capability Centre India (HCCI), formerly Intergraph Product Centre, is eying business potential in the development of smart cities.
``As a provider of smart solutions in diverse areas including geospatial, information systems, public safety, governance and marine, we see good scope for garnering business in the development of smart cities and other infrastructure projects,’’ its Vice-President and Country Manager Navaneet Mishra told newspersons on the sidelines of product info day organised here on Friday.
HCCI, the research and development unit of the US-based Hexagon, has so far provided smart solutions to Formula 1 racing cars, easier assembly of Mars Rover, distress call based public safety system in the US and the Hyderabad Metro, among others.
``For smart cities require better public safety, governance, eco friendly smart solutions in which we have strengths,’’ Mishra said, adding that the company was currently in discussions with Government and other agencies involved in upcoming mega projects.
HCCI has also lined up expansion. ``Our headcount of innovators here has gone up from 470 in 2007 to 1000 now. We will further expand our strength and operations,’’ he said without giving any numbers.
Hexagon was probably the first multinational company to come to Hyderabad as Intergraph 28 years ago.
