Ludhiana-based bicycle maker Hi Bird today launched its new range of mountain gear series of bicycles, targeted at the youngsters and kids segments in the domestic market.

“To meet the increasing demand for mountain bikes in the country company has launched 10 new models under ‘Mountain Gear’ series, covering youngsters and kids segments,” R D Sharma, Chairman and Managing Director, Hi Bird Bicycles said in a statement.

The new mountain range bicycles are equipped with multi-gears, extra over-sized tyres. Price of the Mountain Gear series launched now has been kept between Rs 3,000 to 6,000, he said.

“The mountain bikes launched in India offer a wide range of gearing ratios, increased stability with smaller wheels and fatter tyres, much improved brakes, and later on, suspension for increased safety and comfort,” he said.

Hi Bird has a well established dealer network all over India having more than 2000 dealers and has presence in nearly 50 overseas markets covering six continents.

Hi Bird has installed manufacturing capacity of 1.50 lakh bicycles per month, which is stretchable up to two million bicycles per annum at Ludhiana.
