Honda Cars India Ltd today reported over two-and-a-half fold increase in its domestic sales at 11,223 units for July 2013.
The company had sold 4,386 units in the same month last year, HCIL said in a statement.
During July, the company sold 1,953 units of its sedan City and 2,602 units of small car Brio. It also sold 20 units of premium sedan Accord.
Besides, HCIL sold 6,515 units of its latest sedan Amaze last month.
The company sold 133 units of its sports utility vehicle CR-V in July 2013.
In addition to these sales, the company also exported a total of 756 units during July 2013.
Commenting on the numbers, HCIL Senior Vice President (Marketing and Sales), Jnaneswar Sen said: “Honda Amaze has clocked its highest monthly sales of 6,515 units during July 2013, and is maintaining very good growth momentum having sold more than 24,000 units sold since its launch”.
As a strategic decision, the company plans to start a third shift from November 2013 to reduce the waiting period of the Amaze. The idea is to ensure customer’s convenience and amplify production for the overwhelming demand, he added.
