Two-wheeler manufacturer Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) today reported a 38.65 per cent growth in total sales for August at 2,22,768 units.
The company’s total sales stood at 1,60,666 units in the corresponding month of last year.
Motorcycle sales jumped by 69.44 per cent to 1,04,316 units in August this year as against 61,562 units in the same month last year, HMSI said in a statement.
The company reported an increase of 19.52 per cent in its scooter sales to 1,18,452 units from 99,104 units in August 2011, it added.
Suzuki Motorcycle
Suzuki Motorcycle India (SMIPL) today reported a 35.77 per cent increase in sales in August 2012 at 36,524 units, as against 26,900 units in the same month last year.
Commenting on the sales growth, SMIPL Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, Atul Gupta said: “We have received a good response from the market for all our products. The growing customer satisfaction has led to positive word-of-mouth in the market.”
