Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI) will recall 72,115 units of its City sedan in India, manufactured between 2005 and 2007. The cars are being recalled to replace defective power window switches, the company announced on Monday.
The company said this was part of its global exercise to replace defective parts that began in January 2010 for 8,532 units of second-generation City models, manufactured in 2007. Although no incident has been reported in India, HSCI is extending the same exercise to the previously sold Honda City to ensure stringent quality standards for its products, a company release said. The replacement would be carried out free of cost and the owners will be contacted by the company.
HSCI now sells the third generation model of the City, which is not affected by the recall exercise.
