HT Media Ltd reported an increase of 13 per cent in its net profit for the September quarter at Rs 43.84 crore, against Rs 38.80 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Net sales The net sales for the period increased by 13.4 per cent at Rs 48.88 crore, against Rs 43.1 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

HT Media has nine subsidiaries, including Hindustan Media Ventures Ltd, HT Music and Entertainment Company Ltd and HT Learning Centres Ltd, and brings out the dailies Hindustan Times and Mint , among others.

Advertising revenue

Advertising revenue grew 13 per cent at Rs 370.5 crore, against Rs 329.4 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Income from circulation increased 21.3 per cent at Rs 50.7 crore, against Rs 41.8 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

During the quarter, the parent company sold its entire investment in the equity share capital of joint venture company, Metropolitan Media Company Pvt Ltd, to joint venture partner for a sum of Rs 6 crore included under other income.
