The country's second largest passenger cars exporter Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) on Wednesday said the company expects better sales from this festive season.
"Last two seasons (previous two years) had been challenging but this year's festive season will be much better as compared to last year," Rakesh Shrivastava, Vice President - Sales and Marketing, HMIL, told reporters here.
Speaking on the sidelines of Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) annual convention, he said customer sentiments are much better now and improving because of low fuel price, lower interest rates and inflation.
"Latent demand is much higher and we expect to do better than the industry this festive season with around 20 per cent growth than last year's festive season," he said.
The industry is expected to grow by 15-17 per cent this festive season, he said adding that the company's new models such as Creta SUV, i20 Active and i20 Elite.
Asked on discounts, he said as newer models are launched in the market, the customers do not ask for much discounts.
Hyundai achieved 20 per cent increase year-on-year (Y-o-Y) by selling 40,505 units in last month against 33,750 units in August 2014.
