Hyundai Motor India Ltd on Monday launched its latest compact family sedan Hyundai Xcent in Hyderabad and Andhra Pradesh.
The second largest carmaker has positioned the car in the fast-growing compact segment, offering both petrol and diesel variants beginning with an ex-showroom price of Rs 4.67 lakh for the petrol and Rs 5.53 lakh for the diesel variant respectively and going up to Rs 7.51 lakh for the top end diesel variant.
The company sees Xcent catering to compact segment buyers who are aspirational and yet value-seeking customers.
According to B S Seo, Managing Director and CEO of HMIL, “Xcent is developed for Indian families. It will create a new benchmark in terms of quality, design, space, features and driving pleasure in the compact sedan segment.”
The Xcent comes with 1.1 litre CRDi diesel engine and 1.2 litre Kappa petrol offering optimum performance and high fuel economy of 24.4 km per litre and 19.1 kmpl respectively, according to Hyundai. The car would compete in the segment served by the Honda Amaze and the Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, among others.
