The country’s second-largest car-maker Hyundai Motor India today reported a 3.6 per cent jump in total sales to 48,949 units in December, 2011.
The company sold 47,228 units in the corresponding year-ago period, Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) said in a statement.
In the domestic market, the company’s sales increased by 12.8 per cent to 29,516 units from 26,168 units in the same month last year, it added.
However, exports of the company decreased by 7.7 per cent to 19,433 units during the month under review from 21,060 units in the year-ago period, the statement said.
In the A2 segment, in which the company offers the Eon, Santro, i10 and i20 models, sales stood at 42,624 units, while in the A3 segment (Accent and Verna), sales stood at 6,247 units.
HMIL witnessed sales of 11 units of its Sonata Transform model in the A5 segment, while its new Santa Fe SUV attracted 67 buyers during the month.
