Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), India’s second-largest car manufacturer, has received more than 15,000 bookings and 1.24 lakh enquiries for its Next Gen Verna. The bookings came in 40 days after its launch in the country.
“As committed, despite the production constraint, we will deliver 12,000 cars before Diwali and 20,000 cars by the year-end at an introductory price,” said Y K Koo, MD and CEO at HMIL.
The Next Gen Verna is available in 1.6 litre petrol and diesel engine options.
HMIL is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Company (HMC). It currently has 10 models across segments – Eon, Grand i10, Elite i20, Active i20, Xcent, Verna, CRETA, Elantra, Tucson and Santa Fe – and exports to about 87 countries across Africa, West Asia, Latin America, Australia and the Asia-Pacific.
