The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will hold its campus placement programme on February 17 and 18. As many as 40 candidates who have completed their Chartered Accountancy course are expected to participate in this programme in the city.
Chief Coordinator of this placement drive V. Murali said this would provide an excellent opportunity for topline companies to hire the finest minds in the accountancy space.
The ICAI, through its committee for members in industry, organises placement programmes at 16 different locations in the country. It is held twice every year — during February-March and August-September.
Six companies were part of the campus placement programme in 2013 and 17 professionals were recruited. The companies which hired were from industry verticals such as financial services, oil and gas refining, banking, telecom, mining, FMCG, and agro, he said.
Across the country, jobs were offered to 902 candidates in February-March 2013 and 685 in August-September. The number of companies that participated was 58 and 61 respectively, and the highest salary offered for a domestic posting was ₹16.55 lakh per annum and ₹20 lakh/annum.
The highest offer for international posting stood at ₹21 lakh/annum and ₹24.64 lakh/annum, respectively during the February-March round and August-September season, he said.
