IFCI Ltd has expanded its board with the induction of two additional directors.

The latest to be inducted is SN Ananthasubramanian, a practising company secretary and former President of the Company Secretaries Institute.

With this move, IFCI’s board strength stands enhanced to 12 from 10 earlier, its CEO and Managing Director Malay Mukherjee said.

“We wanted a more diversified board. We have recently inducted two directors — Prof N Balakrishnan and S.N. Ananthasubramanian. Both have come in as additional directors,” Mukherjee told Business Line here.

IFCI, which is a Government company, is keen to turn into a development finance institution and has given up on its earlier aspiration of becoming a commercial bank.
