Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) today said it has commissioned the nation’s first CNG station modelled on the concept of having ‘Equipment on Canopy’
This is IGL commissions first of its kind CNG station in Delhi CNG Station in India where all CNG equipment are installed on RCC canopy. As a result of installation of all equipment on the canopy, nearly 40 per cent of the plot area has been saved, which is being utilised for CNG dispensing.
“This concept will help in overcoming problem of limited space availability in a metro city like Delhi, where availability of land is a major concern,” the company said in a statement adding IGL would be looking at replicating this model at other CNG stations.
IGL, the sole supplier of CNG and PNG in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad, has remodelled one of its existing CNG station at Nanglamachi on Ring Road in the national capital on this concept, which is already being followed in countries like Argentina and Brazil.
“The remodelled station has been developed by IGL with the state of the art design and technology by keeping equipment like compressors, cascades, metering skids etc on a suitably engineered concrete canopy making more area available at the forecourt for CNG dispensing,” it said.
