Scandinavian company IKEA plans to give more priority to procurement from women owned enterprises.
IKEA designs and sells ready-to-assemble furniture, appliances, small motor vehicles and home accessories.
Juvencio Maeztu, IKEA CEO, speaking at the Invest Karnataka 2016 - global investors meet said the company by providing priority to women owned enterprises is now accounted for 52 per cent of the total procurement.
He said Karnataka was among the four prioritised states for IKEA for its activities in India and the company would be starting a web-based tool shortly and setting up for stores in Karnataka for which MoU has been signed.
