IL&FS Engineering and Construction Services Ltd has posted a loss of Rs 45.92 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2013, against a loss of Rs 36.73 crore for the corresponding quarter last year.
However, the Hyderabad-based infrastructure company registered higher income of Rs 593.15 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2013, against Rs 509.88 crore for the corresponding period last year.
According to filings made with the stock exchanges, the company auditors continue to qualify some of the provisions. This includes inter-corporate deposits of over Rs 343.78 crore given to various companies including Satyam Computer Services Ltd, now Mahindra Satyam.
The company has initiated legal proceedings to recover dues.
For the extended 18 months period ended September 30, 2012, the company had registered a loss of Rs 135.31 crore on a turnover of Rs 2,042.56 crore.
The company had extended its previous financial year by six months up to September 30, 2012 to give effect to the scheme of arrangement for restructure of the capital of the company.
The company's shares ended down 7.59 per cent at Rs 40.15 on the BSE.
