Two-wheelers manufacturer India Yamaha Motor on Monday said the company has made a separate Sales and Marketing vertical called Yamaha Motor India Sales, which will be responsible for pushing the sales and marketing initiatives independently.

The company said this vertical would aim at connecting with a larger customer base with innovative marketing strategies.

The new vertical will be lead by Masaki Asano as the Managing Director of the company and will be assisted by Jun Nakata as Director with Roy Kurian as Sales & Marketing Group Head.

It will also include Ravinder Singh as Strategy Planning Group Head and Takehiko Yamazaki as Parts Operation Group Head.

“Most importantly it is imperative to connect the product with the customer. The restructuring will help us to intensify our marketing effort. It is done envisaging our emergence as a market leader in time to come,” Asano said.

He said the new emerging India consists of a customer base that has varied product taste. While a large customer base offers an opportunity to propel the growth trajectory, it also comes with the challenge of offering the exact product to fulfill the customer’s wish list.

The company sold 29,785 units in January, recording a growth of 13 per cent as against 26,300 units sold in same month last year in the domestic market.

“With this re-structuring the company is ready to take the next leap in the growth chart,” Asano added.
