Two-wheeler maker India Yamaha Motor today reported a 4.83 per cent increase in total sales at 49,522 units during October 2012.
The company had sold 47,240 units in the same month last year, India Yamaha Motor said in a statement.
Domestic sales stood at 39,368 units against 38,229 units, up 2.98 per cent.
Exports rose 12.68 per cent to 10,154 units during the month from 9,011 units in the year-ago period, it added.
“We are very pleased with the sales growth that we have witnessed in the past month on account of our strong product portfolio, new launch in the scooter segment with Ray and high customer confidence in us,” India Yamaha Motor Director (Sales and Marketing) Jun Nakata said.
The new scooter Ray has received very good response from the customers, he added.
