Crisis for Jet Airways deepened on Wednesday as Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) stopped the supply of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) for the debt-strapped airline but then resumed it after a few hours.
An IOCL spokesperson confirmed that the ATF supply for the airline was stopped for some time due to payment dues.
Another senior official at IOCL on the condition of anonymity said: “The bank guarantee of Jet Airways needs to be paid. Till the time the airline does not pay the money, IOCL will have to discontinue the supply.”
However, the official did not mention the amount that is pending. Last week, too, IOCL had stopped fuel supply for a few hours, and resumed it after the payment of dues.
