Online retailer >Indiaplaza.com has launched a ‘sports store' as part of its lifestyle segment.
The sports store offers a range of sportswear and sports accessories and includes international brands such as Artengo, Kalenji, Inesis and Quechua. The store has over 5,000 products over 27 sporting verticals such as cricket, badminton, golf, hiking, running, fitness, horse riding and roller skating.
The e-commerce site is already selling books and mobiles under its lifestyle segment. Indiaplaza also offers a loyalty programme which would be extended to the sports segment also. As part of the inaugural offer, Indiaplaza says it would deliver products in the category free of cost to all customers across the country.
Commenting on the new segment, Mr S. Shriram, Head, Lifestyle, Indiaplaza, said, “Currently, shoppers have to travel searching for products even for jogging or running. Obviously, one wouldn't want to wear just pyjamas or yoga wear for fitness activities and thus, we see an opportunity for shoppers to buy it online.”
