Krishna and Kans, the country’s first stereoscopic animated feature film, will be released in a global launch on August 3.
Positioned as a family entertainer, the film covers a ten year span of Krishna’s life, beginning with pre-birth and ending with the destruction of Kans when he was ten.
The two-hour film, on which over 1,200 artistes have worked, has taken more than five years to make, Mr Ashish S.K., CEO, Reliance Animation, and the film’s executive producer, said.
It will be released in over 300 3D theatres, 250 2D theatres and over 40 schools inIndia as well as in Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia, he said, adding that in a fortnight or so, Krishna and Kans will also be released in the UK and the US.
The voice-overs for the characters have been provided by Om Puri (Kans), Juhi Chawla (mother Yashoda), and Prachi Save (Krishna).
Manoj Bajpai, Anupam Kher, A K Hangal, Sachin and Supriya Pilgaonkar and Mukesh Khanna have lent their voices to various other prominent characters.
