Indraprastha Gas Ltd, the sole supplier of CNG to automobiles and piped cooking gas to households in the national capital region, on Wednesday reported 16.5 per cent rise in net profit to Rs 77.22 crore in the second quarter ended September 30, 2011.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 66.27 crore in the July—September quarter of 2010—11.
Its revenues rose by 32 per cent to Rs 663.2 crore, IGL said in a filing to the BSE.
CNG sales increased by 14 per cent and piped natural gas’ sales rose by 62 per cent in the reporting quarter, it said.
“On an overall basis, there is 23 per cent growth in sales volume during this quarter over the corresponding quarter of FY11, with daily sale averaging at 3.22 million standard cubic metres per day,” it added.
