Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) registered a turnover of Rs 733.61 crore in the third quarter (October-December 2011) of fiscal 2012 compared with Rs 508.76 crore in the same period last year, registering a sales value growth of 44 per cent.
Product-wise, compressed natural gas recorded sales of Rs 569.72 crore, up 34 per cent, while piped natural gas recorded sales of Rs 163.88 crore, registering a growth of 96 per cent. Net profit after tax for the quarter stood at Rs 69.15 crore against Rs 67.19 crore in the same period last year, an IGL release said here on Tuesday.
The company is the sole supplier of CNG and PNG in the National Capital Territory of Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida & Ghaziabad.
In the third quarter, CNG sales volume increased by 16 per cent and PNG sales volumes went up by 64 per cent over last year. Overall, there was 25 per cent growth in sales volume during this quarter over the corresponding quarter of 2010-11.
The company is on fast-track expansion of infrastructure. A total of 239 CNG stations are in operation in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad.
Another 41 have already been commissioned and 30 more CNG stations are in various stages of construction and are expected to be commissioned by March 2012, the release added.
