Mostly dry and continental northwesterly winds are expected to prevail over the western Maharashtra city of Pune, the venue for today’s IPL cricket match.

Mumbai Indians take on Pune Warriors at the Subrata Roy Sahara stadium at 8 p.m.

Wind maps issued 12 hours ahead of the match indicate the possibility of the northwesterly flows from a region hotting up with a lag this year.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) suspected that a component of moist westerly flows from the adjoining northeast Arabian might also build in.

This would raise the humidity level to a maximum of 70 per cent. The maximum (day) temperatures are not expected to grow beyond 38 deg Celsius. Minimum (night) temperatures may settle to a more comfortable 18 deg Celsius.

Mostly fair weather has been forecast for the duration of the match.
