Isuzu Motors India has signed an agreement with Hindustan Motors Ltd (HML) for contract manufacturing of Isuzu SUVs and pick-up trucks in India.
The components for producing these vehicles will be imported by Isuzu Motors from Thailand and assembled at HML’s factory at Thiruvallur, near Chennai, said the company in a release.
Takashi Kikuchi, President, Isuzu Motors India, a subsidiary of Isuzu of Japan, said: “We are happy with the positive feedback to our MU7 SUV and DMAX pick-up trucks, which we launched in Coimbatore and Hyderabad this year, by importing these as CBUs from Thailand.
We would like to accelerate this momentum and expand sales operations in other parts of India.”
