Italy will be participating as partner country in the Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS) for second year in a row.
A delegation of over 30 companies from Italy mostly from transport, infrastructure, metals and leather sectors will be present at the two-day annual investment summit to be held on January 16 and 17.
The Italian delegation to be headed by Lorenzo Angeloni, Italian Ambassador to India, will mark the common will to strengthen bilateral cooperation and open celebrations for 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, said a press statement.
The delegation will be led by ArtValley-an organisation that hosts projects and international forums for the promotion of specific cultural and geopolitical initiatives.
Joint Ventures
Italy’s participation in BGBS last year has already helped establish two joint ventures between Italian and local companies in railway and IT sectors, Damiano Francovigh, Italian Consul General, said in the release. Another Italian company, already operating in the state, has decided to renovate and expand their offices located in Kolkata.
“We hope that more results will be achieved after this year’s participation. A MoU will be signed in the leather sector, for new technologies and training programs,” he said.
