FMCG major ITC Ltd will resume cigarette production at its factories. According to a filing in the BSE, the company said: “…consequent upon a High Court order passed in favour of the company (ITC), the company will soon resume manufacture of cigarettes in its factories.” The exact date has not been mentioned by ITC. The five units of the company were shut from April 1, after the government mandated that cigarette packs require larger pictorial warnings. These units cater to both domestic and export requirements.
