ITC working on Rs 3,500-cr projects in West Bengal

Diversified conglomerate ITC Ltd is carrying out projects worth of ₹3,500 crore in West Bengal.

This is part of the ₹25,000-crore that the company has invested in 65 projects involving a built-up area of 28 million sq ft.

According to YC Deveshwar, Chairman, ITC Ltd, the projects are distributed across a majority of States and will "create livelihood opportunities all over India".

"You would be happy to know that 65 projects involving a built-up area of 28 mm sq ft with an outlay of over ₹25,000 crore are currently under implementation or in advanced stages of planning," the Chairman told shareholders at the 103rd AGM.

"..... West Bengal has a high share of these projects with an outlay of ₹3,500 crore, encouraged by conducive policies of the State," Deveshwar added.

These upcoming assets will impart substantial strength to the company's competitive capacity, the Chairman said.
