Jaguar roars at the Buddh

Jaguar, the iconic British luxury auto brand, has decided to take their customers for a spin. The setting - the 5.14-km Buddh International Circuit.

With less than a month to go for the Indian Grand Prix, the Buddh International Circuit revved into action with the auto major allowing consumers to get a hands-on experience.

“It was a three-day event, an opportunity for customers to experience the vehicle on a decent road. The idea was to showcase the handling of the dynamics and the stability of the vehicle,” said an official.

Guests were invited to rip down at the Buddh International Circuit at speeds of around 200 km per hour.

Indian F1 driver Narain Karthikeyan also drove around some of the guests. The on-track driving experience activities were divided into Guided laps, Dynamic Driving and Hot laps.

The first segment had participants complete several rounds of the lap while they switched the lead position of convoy during the course. The next segment consisted of high speed manoeuvres on the track, showcasing the stability of the vehicle. In the final segment, the teams were given a professional driving experience.

“We wanted to give people a unique driving experience. It was a marketing opportunity to showcase our range of products on a race track,” the official added.

The official added that the event was planned several months ago. The events were supported by a team from the UK, which consisted of professional drivers and logistic experts.

Formula One’s entry to India has kick-started a lot of activities. Auto majors Ford and Mercedes have already raced at this track. Prospective and existing Jaguar customers had a significant time on the track, with each participant getting around 1.5 hours on the track.

Added Rohit Suri, Jaguar Land Rover, Vice-President, “The drive has given Jaguar owners and potential customers an opportunity to explore the technical and design excellence of the Jaguar.”
