Jaguar has suspended the production of a hybrid super car, as the present global economic condition is not conducive for the rollout of the high-end luxury car. The super car - C-X75 - was revealed as a concept at the 2010 Paris Motor Show.
“The company has reassessed the market conditions and has taken the view that the global economic landscape does not currently support the introduction of a super car, such as the C-X75,” a Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) spokesperson said, confirming the development to Business Line .
The vehicle, according to Jaguar Web site, was being built with a ‘plug-in’ hybrid – combining a petrol engine and electric motors - with a battery pack large enough to drive the car.
The car, with a production run of 250 cars, was to be priced at £700,000 to £900,000 depending on local market and taxes.
