Jaiprakash Associates Ltd has been awarded two contracts by Punatsangchhu-II Hydroelectric Project Authority, Bhutan, for works relating to the construction of 990 MW Punatsangchhu II Hydro-Electric Project (a joint implementation of the Hydro Electric Project by the Royal Government of Bhutan and the Government of India) work over Rs 2,050 crore.
While works like diversion tunnel, dam intake and desilting arrangement including hydro-mechanical works etc were worth Rs 1,224 crore, the balance Rs 855 crore was for other works like head race tunnel, power house and tailrace tunnel including hydro-mechanical works etc.
