Jaypee Cement has won the coal block in Mandla South, Madhya Pradesh, for a bid of Rs 1,852 a tonne.
The ready-to-produce block has extractable reserves 13.35 million tonne and is for the non-power sector. The block was previously owned by MP State Mining Corporation Ltd.
There are two more blocks on offer on Sunday. Ganeshpur in Jharkhand is for the power sector. The block has extractable reserves of 91.8 million tonne and was previously owned by Tata Steel Ltd.
Gare Palma IV/8 in Chhattisgarh is also on offer for the non-power sector. The block has extractable reserves of 11.75 million tonne and was previously owned by Jayaswal Neco Ltd.
