Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India has opened a new parts distribution Centre (PDC) at Bhiwandi near Mumbai.
Spread over 70,000 square feet, this latest facility will have regionally-optimised inventory supporting both its brands controlled by JLR’s central inventory management team..
The PDC will improve the regional supply chain velocity by allowing greater readiness and responsiveness to local requirements.
“This centre will further strengthen our service levels and the investment reinforces JLR's long-term commitment to the Indian market,” Rohit Suri, President, JLR India, said in a statement.
The new facility is equipped with a latest fire-fighting system aided by very early smoke detection apparatus which is more sensitive than a conventional system. It also has in-rack sprinklers for better safety, in addition to overhead sprinklers.
Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles are available in India through 21 authorised retailers in Ahmedabad, Aurangabad, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi (at Janpath & Mathura Road), Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Kochi, Karnal, Ludhiana, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune and Raipur.
