Jaguar Land Rover India’s wholesales rose 32 per cent to 2,393 cars in 2012, compared with 1,813 vehicles sold during the previous year.

Wholesale is defined as despatches from factory to dealers end, and not to the end-users.

“Despite difficult economic circumstances and a general slowdown in the Indian car market, we have continued to grow our sales due to appealing and exciting products that distinguish us from other luxury car manufacturers. The coming year will see the introduction of further new and refreshed products and we are confident of increasing our share of the Indian luxury car market,” said Jaguar Land Rover India Vice- President Rohit Suri.

During the calendar year, Land Rover had launched its luxury sports utility vehicle, Range Rover.

Further, Land Rover products will be launched throughout the year, it said.

The Jaguar F-Type – an all new two seater sports car - will be launched in India later this year, along with model year changes for the XF and XJ. The Jaguar product range in India includes the XF, XFR, XKR, XKR-S and XJ.

For Land Rover, the product range includes the Freelander 2 (built in Pune), Discovery 4, Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover Sport and the all-new Range Rover.

The luxury carmaker, Jaguar Land Rover India is owned by Tata Motors.
