JSW Steel Ltd said its crude steel output for the March quarter grew 26 per cent to 2.07 million tonnes over the corresponding period last year.
Total crude steel output for 2011-12 was up 16 per cent to 7.43 mt over the previous year.
JSW Steel fell short of its targeted output of 8.75 mt for 2011-12 on account of scarcity of iron ore due to the mining ban imposed by the Supreme Court in Karnataka for environmental reasons.
Output of flat-rolled products for fiscal 2012 grew 9 per cent to 5.36 mt, while that of long products grew 34 per cent to 1.52 mt. JSW Steel shares were trading up 1 per cent at Rs 694.80 in early trade on the BSE on Thursday.
