JSW Steel today reported just one per cent growth in production in the month of January at 11.20 lakh tonnes (LT).
The steelmaker, which has 145 LT installed production capacity, had produced 11.09 LT crude steel in the same month of the last year, it said in a statement.
Production of flat steel, which is used in the automotive and consumer goods segments, grew by nine per cent during the month to 9.07 LT compared to 8.35 LT a year ago.
JSW Steel is one of the largest producers and exporters of coated flat products in the country with presence in over 100 countries across five continents.
The company produced 1.76 LT long products, which find use mainly in the construction sector, up four per cent to 1.68 LT a year earlier.
JSW Steel produced 31.7 LT during the October-December quarter and 95.7 LT in the first nine months of the current fiscal.
Shares of the company were trading at Rs 994.15 apiece during the afternoon trade in the BSE.
