JWT India and Taproot Dentsu led the metals tally at the end of the part one of the Creative Abby Awards in Goa.
With three and two golds to their credit, the two agencies were in a neck-to neck-race for the top honours as the final round of the Creative Abby awards will be held here on Saturday.
Categories ranging from radio to print craft, radio craft, public relations, broadcaster, direct, brand activation and branded content were awarded on Friday. However, the highlight of the otherwise glittering event was the limited number of yellow metals that were handed out in these categories.
On Day Two, there were only 18 golds handed out, a decision which jury chair Ajay Chandwani pointed out, resulted from the jury members raising the bar to a level higher than the previous years.
JWT picked up golds for its effort on brands like Godrej Dual VideoDoor Phone, Airtel and Lux soaps, while Taproot bagged honours for its work on Indian Outdoor Advertising association.
The other highlight was smaller agencies being recognised. While Brave New World bagged the top honours for Roadster Pocketman, Happy Creative bagged a gold for its efforts during the Chennai floods for its Ola Boat idea. Nearly five dozen silvers and 111 bronze awards were given out.
