Kamani Oil Industries Pvt Ltd on Monday launched its rice bran brand Riso in the Gujarat market.

In a statement here, the company cited data showing that 14 per cent of total deaths in Gujarat occur due to cardiac arrests. Doctors say that many are falling prey to heart disease at an increasingly younger age due to high levels of stress, lack of exercise and poor eating habits.

Manufactured using rice bran, a by-product of rice milling industry, Riso is rich in Oryzanol, a natural anti-oxidant that helps reduce cholesterol, oxidative damage due to ageing and inflammation caused due to chronic diseases, the statement said. This oil is also rich in micro-nutrients and fortified with Vitamins A, D and E.

Riso launched earlier in Maharashtra, has been voted with “Product of the Year” Award (in cooking mediums and edible oil category) in the survey conducted by Nielsen, Rajiv Behere, Associate Vice President of Kamani Oil, said.

Riso rice bran oil will be available in one, five and 15 litre packs.
