Karnataka Bank Ltd has bagged the ‘Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) Southern Region Excellence Award 2012-13’ under the category of ‘best performing financial institution, southern region’.
A press release by the bank said here on Friday that P. Jayarama Bhat, Managing Director of the bank, received the award from EM Sudarsana Natchiappan, Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, in Chennai on Thursday.
Quoting Bhat, the release said: “Realising the important role played by exports in the growth of our economy, Karnataka Bank has been giving utmost importance to putting in place the required infrastructure to deliver hassle-free services and to afford timely and adequate credit to exporters. The bank offers export credit interest subvention to all eligible export clients, upfront, on a monthly basis.
“The bank has also been proactively engaged in educating exporters and has been organising exporters’ meets at various locations across the country. We are therefore very happy to receive this award.”
