Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Ltd, which launched a super premium soap in January in Karnataka, plans to take it national during this fiscal.

Priced at Rs 720, Mysore Sandal Millennium has been ‘well received’ in the home State and in Tamil Nadu, said the company Chairman, Mr Shivananda Naik.

He said that the soap would be launched in Hyderabad, Mumbai, New Delhi an Kolkata soon. The state-owned PSU has far sold about 12,500 units of the super premium soap. “This year, we want to sell at least 5,000 of these soaps every month,” he said.

This fiscal, the 94-year-old KS&DL’s profit more than doubled to Rs 11.01 crore.

Sales for the fiscal stood at Rs 262.6 crore, showing a growth of 28 per cent.
