KEC International Ltd, an RPG Group company in the EPC space, has bagged orders worth Rs 1,416 crore in different business verticals.
A significant portion of the order constitutes overseas business.
The transmission business accounts for the largest chunk of the orders, both from India and abroad. In India, the division has won Rs 320 crore order from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) for design, supply and construction of double circuit transmission line between Wardha and Aurangabad in Maharashtra.
The overseas orders are from Bangaladesh for Rs 243 crore and from DR Congo for Rs 213 crore for design, supply and construction of power transmission lines. Its overseas subsidiary SAE Towers has secured orders for tower supply to the US, Mexico and Brazil totally valued Rs 207 crore.
In the power system business, the company has got an order from Kenya Electricity Transmission Company worth Rs 60 crore. In cable business, orders worth Rs 145 crore for power and telecom cables have been secured. PGCIL has given orders worth Rs 184 crore for optical power ground wire communication system in northern and eastern India. In water business, an order for Rs 44 crore was given by Madya Pradesh water resources department.
Mr Ramesh Chandak, MD & CEO, said the order flow for FY 2012 was over Rs 6,500 crore. This was spread across different businesses and geographies and the healthy order book gave the company a good visibility for FY 2013.
