KGI Clothing, the Chennai-based garments company, has laid the foundation stone for its new production unit at Sri City, marking the start of construction. The plant will produce garments for men and women.
Anurag Goyenka, Managing Director, performed the groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday.
Goyenka in a statement said they preferred to set up the plant in Sri City in view of its location advantage and infrastructure.
"About 450 people will be employed and 75 per cent of them will be women," he added.
The factory, which is expected to be ready by this year-end, will be built on a 2-acre plot at an investment of about Rs 12 crore.
KGI Clothing is a garments manufacturer, supplier and exporter.
