Korean automotive major Kia Motors is likely to start manufacturing of its cars in India from its upcoming greenfield plant from September 2019. The Seoul-based company is the 6th largest producer of cars and SUVs in the world. It is entering India with a proposed investment outlay of $2 billion and with production capacity of 3 lakh vehicles per year from the world class manufacturing facility being set up in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh.
Towards this vision, Crescendo Worldwide had organised KIA Motors Supplier Meet in Delhi on May 29, 2018, where 200+ Tier 1 and Tier 2 companies and supplier from various cities of India met KIA Motors India Team, according to a statement.
Twenty-five Korean Tier 1 suppliers of Kia Motors also participated. Indian companies also got an opportunity to see latest models of Kia Motors – to know more about parts, components and assemblies.
