Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Chairperson of biotech company Biocon has been ranked second on ‘The Medicine Maker Power List’ 2015, an index of the 100 most influential people across the world in the field of medicine.
Shaw appears on the list alongside global leaders from the industry, including CEOs such as Andrew Witty of GlaxoSmithKline and Heather Bresch of Mylan, professors, Nobel Prize winning researchers and many other celebrated scientists from the pharmaceutical world, the company said in a statement.
She is the only Indian person to figure on the list, the statement added.
The Medicine Maker is a UK-based publication.
