Fluid management company Kirloskar Brothers Ltd has set up its first warehouse for spare parts at Kirloskarvadi.
The modern facility which involves an investment of Rs 1.5 crore is equipped with storage and handling equipment such as a Cardex machine (vertical storage racks) and modern packing equipment and can stock over 2,200 components.
With features such as a consumption-based stock and IT-enabled process to monitor consumption and re-ordering of parts based on customer demand, it will help KBL reduce the delivery time of spare parts for small and medium pumps. KBL can scale up the supply of 5,000 components in this facility.
KBL, along with its channel partners, will plan and forecast the requirements of its customers and will make commonly used spare parts available for sectors such as sugar, steel, coal, paper, chemicals and power.
