Indian pump major Kirloskar has completed 50 years of its existence in Egypt supplying equipment for the agriculture sector.
At a function organised here today to mark the occasion, the company launched new projects during which senior Indian Embassy officials were also present.
Kirloskar Brothers Ltd Chairman and Managing Director Sanjay Kirloskar along with the Indian ambassador to Egypt Navdeep Suri inaugurated the Benban and Rozaikat pump stations here.
Several of the company’s pumps have been used in reclamation and irrigation projects which support more than 10,000 farmers, Kirloskar told reporters.
Kirloskar has played a critical role in bringing Egypt closer towards food sufficiency and water management.
Kirloskar Brothers is also supplying pump solutions to the industries such as process and chemical and sugar industries, the company said.
