Ajay Shirke, President of Maharashtra Cricket Association, Treasurer of the BCCI and a Director in the Shirke group of companies, which is into construction business, has known Cyrus Mistry for many years, but came in close contact during the last two years as Shapoorji Pallonji is building a stadium for the MCA near Pune.
He describes him as a soft spoken, thorough gentleman with excellent business acumen and a fine sense of values. “He prefers to stay away from the limelight, is a music fan who loves rock, pop and classical, has a keen interest in cars, but never goes over the top with anything,” Mr Shirke says, adding that Cyrus is a person “cast in the Tata mould.”
