L&T has secured a $200 million (about ₹1200 crore) contract from the Bangladesh Power Development Board for setting up a 225 MW gas-based power plant in Sikalbaha, Chittagong.
Four development partners of the Bangladesh Government from West Asia (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE and OPEC Fund) will finance the project with about $167 million.
L&T’s work includes design, supply, installation and commissioning of the plant on a turnkey basis. L&T-Sargent and Lundy, an L&T subsidiary, will carry out plant integration and detailed engineering, an L&T release said.
